Susan A. Ballagh, MD

Susan A. Ballagh, MD is associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and assistant dean for continuing medical education at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. She participates in CONRAD, formerly known as the Contraceptive Research and Development program. Since 2001, she also has served as medical director of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia.

Dr. Ballagh earned her medical degree from the Drew/UCLA Medical Education program in Los Angeles. She served her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where she completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and contraception.

Dr. Ballagh has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, online peer-reviewed articles, and book chapters, including Vaginal Ring Hormone Delivery Systems in Contraception and Menopause, Alcohol: The Link Between Hormone Replacement and Breast Cancer Risk, and Oral Contraceptives and Smoking (online CME activity). She has also delivered over 80 talks and speeches, including 8 international presentations, and has appeared on many radio and television programs. Dr. Ballagh has been principle investigator for over 45 research projects and grant support, and co-principle investigator on many more. She is the recipient of awards that include the Hartford Clinical Faculty Award for Research in Geriatrics, and is a Berlex Foundation Scholar. She is a peer reviewer for 6 journals, including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Contraception, and the Journal of Women's Health. Dr. Ballagh is a member of many organizations and societies, and as the medical director of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia, she actively participates in community health education.


Rebecca Lehman MPAS, PA-C

Rebecca Lehman MPAS, PA-C is an assistant professor in the Physician Assistant Department, Nova Southeastern University, Naples, Florida.

Ms. Lehman completed her physician assistant certification at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and earned a master of physician assistant studies degree at the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

Active in many professional societies, Ms. Lehman is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North American Menopause Society. She was founder and president of the Association of Physician Assistants in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Ms. Lehman is on the editorial boards of Clinician Reviews and the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and has authored book chapters and medical journal articles. She has made many presentations to professional organizations around the country on a variety of women's health topics.


Joseph A. Lieberman III, MD, MPH

Joseph A. Lieberman III, MD, MPH is professor of family medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Lieberman received his bachelor of science from Georgetown University, medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, and master of public health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He also served as a Robert Wood Johnson Health policy fellow with the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC.

A frequent contributor to the medical literature, Dr. Lieberman is co-author of the popular textbook, The Fifteen Minute Hour: Practical Therapeutic Interventions in Primary Care, now in its third edition. He is associate editor of the Delaware Medical Journal and serves on the editorial boards of The Primary Care Companion to the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and Consultant, and the editorial review panels of several journals, including Journal of the American Medical Association, American Family Physician, Annuals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, and Patient Care. Dr. Lieberman is active in the New Castle County and Delaware State Medical Societies as well as the American Medical Association. A fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, he has served that organization in a variety of positions, including as the president of both the New Jersey and Delaware Academies of Family Physicians. In addition to his organized medical activities, he also serves the State of Delaware as a member of the Delaware Health Care Commission, the Delaware Health Fund Advisory Committee, the Delaware Health Information Network, and the Delaware Institute for Medical Education and Research.


Anne A. Moore, NP, MS

Anne A. Moore, NP, MS is professor of nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ms. Moore received a bachelor of science and a master of science from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She is a certified nurse practitioner in women's health and a certified nurse colposcopist.

In addition to authoring dozens of books, monographs, manuals, and electronic publications, Ms. Moore has contributed 30 articles to professional journals and has written 8 book chapters. She is currently on the editorial board of The Nurse Practitioner, and has been an editorial reviewer for 8 other publications. Ms. Moore has made presentations for professional societies, and at symposia, conferences, and other venues, prodigiously for 20 years. She participates in a variety of committees at Vanderbilt and is an active member of numerous professional societies, including being a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Moore developed the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner specialty in 1992. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing now has the largest MSN program with this specialty focus in the US.


Natalie Rasgon, MD, PhD

Natalie Rasgon, MD, PhD is director of the Stanford Center for Neuroscience in Women's Health, director of the Behavioral Neuroendocrinology Program, director of the Women's Wellness Program, and professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is also adjunct assistant professor, Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital, Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Rasgon received her doctor of medicine, with highest honors, at Odessa Medical Institute, Odessa, USSR. She earned a PhD in obstetrics and gynecology and pathological physiology from the Central Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education, Central Institute of General Pathology and Pathological Physiology, Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow. She served her residency in psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. She completed a fellowship in gynecological endocrinology at the Central Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education in Moscow, was a Janssen clinical scholar at the Seventh U.S. Psychiatric & Mental Health Congress, and was a NRSA research fellow in neurobiology at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital, UCLA School of Medicine.

Dr. Rasgon is the author of 75 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 11 book chapters, is the editor of a book, Estrogen's Effects in the Central Nervous System: Estrogen and Mood, and has been a reviewer for 24 medical journals. She has given dozens of lectures and has made almost 100 poster presentations at national and international meetings. Currently a member of 14 medical societies, Dr. Rasgon has been an active committee member nationally, internationally, and at the university level. The holder of 4 patents, Dr. Rasgon has received many awards, including being named the International Scientist of the Year for 2002 by the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England.
